Medical officers, pharmacists and clinic assistants of Aam Aadmi Clinics in Punjab have begun an indefinite strike, demanding job security and protesting wage deductions.

On the second day of the protest, roughly 1,000 employees from Aam Aadmi Clinics across Punjab remain on an indefinite strike. The striking workforce includes medical officers, pharmacists and clinic assistants who say their contracts offer no guarantee of continued employment.

The workers allege that even paid leave is being deducted from their salaries, prompting them to demand clear job security provisions. Union representatives have called for immediate negotiations with clinic management to address these grievances.

Clinic authorities have not yet issued a formal response, but the strike is expected to disrupt outpatient services in several towns throughout the state until a settlement is reached.

Labor experts note that such actions highlight broader concerns about contractual employment in the private healthcare sector, where many staff members lack permanent positions and benefits.

The situation remains fluid, with both sides urging a peaceful resolution to avoid further impact on patients seeking medical care.
