Around 999 first-year BA students at Sagar Girls Degree College were placed on supplementary exams, prompting a dharna outside the campus.
In Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, a large group of first‑year Bachelor of Arts students at Sagar Girls Degree College faced academic setbacks when the college announced supplementary examinations for 999 of them. The decision affected the entire cohort of BA first‑year students, who were required to appear for the make‑up tests to clear their pending subjects.
The announcement triggered immediate unrest among the students. Feeling aggrieved by the mass supplementary order, the affected girls gathered outside the college premises and began a dharna to voice their concerns. The protest remained peaceful but drew attention from local observers and college authorities.
College officials have not released further details on the reasons behind the extensive supplementary list, and the students continue to sit on the dharna, seeking clarification and possible remedial measures from the administration.
