75-year-old woman murdered in Damoh’s Bisanakhedi village during Navratri, valuables stolen

A 75‑year‑old resident of Bisanakhedi village in Damoh district was found dead with her throat slit, and cash and jewellery reported missing.
Damoh district authorities received a report on the first day of Navratri that a 75‑year‑old woman from Bisanakhedi village had been found dead inside a dilapidated structure. Police arrived at the scene and discovered the victim’s body with a deep throat wound inflicted by a sharp weapon.
The forensic team confirmed that the cause of death was a deliberate slashing of the throat, and the body showed signs of recent violence. The building where the corpse was located is described as a crumbling, abandoned house on the outskirts of the village.
Family members who arrived later said that cash and jewellery normally kept by the elderly woman were missing, leading them to suspect a robbery motive. Local police have opened a murder investigation, registering a case under sections relating to homicide and theft, and are canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and any surveillance footage that might aid the probe.
