The Directorate of Film Festivals has confirmed that the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony will be aired on 15 March 2026 at 8 p.m. IST on Doordarshan and selected OTT platforms.
The Directorate of Film Festivals released the official schedule for the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony, stating that the event will be televised on 15 March 2026, beginning at 20:00 Indian Standard Time. The live telecast will be carried by Doordarshan's DD National channel, ensuring nationwide free‑to‑air coverage.
In addition to the terrestrial broadcast, the ceremony will be streamed simultaneously on major over‑the‑top platforms that have partnered with the government for cultural programming.
