7.2% Teen Pregnancies in Telangana Villages, Kavitha Highlights Concerns

Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president K Kavitha has revealed concerning statistics regarding adolescent pregnancies in Telangana. She stated that approximately 7.2 percent of girls between the ages of 15 and 19 are pregnant in the rural areas of the state.
In contrast, Kavitha noted that the pregnancy rate among the same age group in urban centers, such as Hyderabad, stands at 2.7 percent. These figures were shared during an address at the Women’s Empowerment Summit held on Wednesday, June 24.
Kavitha further expressed that current legal frameworks are inadequate to tackle the issue of teenage pregnancies effectively. The TRS chief highlighted the disparity between rural and urban figures, underscoring the need for more comprehensive measures.
