IFSCA chief said about $60 billion has entered India, crediting the surge to the development of GIFT City, the country’s first International Financial Services Centre.
The chief of the International Financial Services Centre Authority (IFSCA) told NDTV that roughly $60 billion has flowed into India, largely through the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). He highlighted the city’s modern infrastructure, single‑window regulatory regime and tax incentives as key drivers attracting foreign capital. The inflow, he said, marks a significant step toward positioning India as a global financial hub and underscores the success of the IFSC model. GIFT City, located near Ahmedabad in Gujarat, continues to register a growing number of financial institutions and service providers seeking a regulated environment outside traditional Indian markets. The IFSCA aims to build on this momentum by further simplifying compliance and expanding the range of financial products offered within the centre.
