40,000 Lucknow Homes Flooded Amid Heavy Rains

Heavy rainfall over the past days has caused widespread flooding in Lucknow, submerging approximately 40,000 homes and disrupting daily life. The municipal corporation has deployed water pumps and rescue teams to affected areas, while residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid low-lying streets. Authorities have also set up temporary shelters for displaced families and are coordinating with state disaster management officials to assess damage and provide relief. The flood has strained local infrastructure, with several roads and bridges temporarily closed. Continued rainfall is expected in the region, raising concerns about further waterlogging and potential health risks.
