Heavy rains and swollen rivers in Uttar Pradesh have caused a 350‑year‑old shrine in Barabanki to sink beneath the water.
Uttar Pradesh is grappling with January‑like fog and swollen rivers that have flooded several highways across the state.
Amid the rising water levels, a 350‑year‑old shrine in the city of Barabanki was reported to be fully submerged.
The incident underscores the vulnerability of heritage sites to the state’s recurrent flooding events.
