A 35-year-old man missing for two days was discovered dead inside a sealed room in Maganj Ward-1, Damoh, with empty liquor bottles and cigarette packs nearby. Police have begun a post‑mortem investigation to determine the cause of death.

The body of a 35-year-old male was recovered on Tuesday from a locked room in Maganj Ward-1 of Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. The youth had been reported missing two days earlier, prompting a search by local authorities.

When police forced open the sealed chamber, they found the deceased lying on the floor surrounded by several empty bottles of alcohol and a few packs of cigarettes. No other personal belongings or signs of struggle were reported at the scene.

Investigators have taken the body to the district forensic laboratory for a post‑mortem examination. The autopsy is expected to clarify whether the death was due to natural causes, accidental consumption, or foul play.

The Damoh police have opened a formal case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are treating the incident as a suspicious death. Further details will be released once the forensic report is completed.
