Police officials reported that the lifeless body of 32‑year‑old Sonali Sharma was found inside a room at the LX Hotel in Tilak Nagar, Indore. The discovery was made after the woman failed to return to her residence and relatives raised concerns.
According to the investigation, Sharma had been staying with businessman Deepak Khandelwal. The two were seen together earlier in the day, and Khandelwal left the hotel alone in the evening, after which Sharma was found deceased.
Medical examination noted foam at the victim's mouth, prompting investigators to consider poisoning as a possible cause of death. The police have launched a CCTV review of the hotel corridors and surrounding areas to trace Khandelwal's movements.
