A 25-year-old man attempting to cross the Son River at Khitoli in Shahdol district was swept away by strong currents and his body was retrieved about a kilometre downstream by the SDRF.
Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh – On Saturday, a 25-year-old resident tried to cross the Son River at Khitoli. After two unsuccessful attempts, he made a third effort and was caught in the river's rapid flow, resulting in his death.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was alerted and reached the spot promptly. Search teams followed the river downstream and recovered the victim's body roughly one kilometre from the crossing point.
