A 22-year-old e‑rickshaw driver, Vikram Kumar, was found dead by hanging in Nalanda, Bihar, after a phone argument with his wife over her not returning from her parents' home.

Nalanda district police reported that the body of 22-year-old e‑rickshaw driver Vikram Kumar was discovered on Monday, hanging from a ceiling fan in his residence. The young man, who earned his livelihood driving an electric rickshaw, was identified by his family members who arrived at the scene.
According to relatives, Kumar had been engaged in a heated telephone conversation with his wife earlier that day. The dispute centered on her visit to her parental home and her decision not to return immediately, which reportedly upset Kumar.
Investigators have opened a case under the state's suicide provisions and are questioning neighbors and close contacts to confirm the sequence of events. No foul play has been indicated so far, and authorities have urged the community to seek counseling support for families dealing with similar domestic stresses.
The incident has sparked discussions on the pressures faced by low‑income workers in Bihar, especially concerning marital conflicts and mental health awareness.
Police have advised anyone experiencing emotional distress to contact local helplines and have pledged to monitor the case for any further developments.
