In a recent meeting, 21 of the 57 Tamil Nadu MPs present rejected the state's Delimitation Bill, while major parties DMK and AIADMK chose not to attend.

During a meeting held in Chennai on Thursday, 21 of the 57 Members of Parliament from Tamil Nadu chose to attend and voiced their opposition to the state's Delimitation Bill.

The bill, which proposes to redraw constituency boundaries ahead of the next general election, has been a point of contention among political parties.

While the 21 MPs voted to reject the proposal, the remaining 36 MPs, including representatives from the DMK and AIADMK, were absent from the session.

The decision is expected to delay the implementation of the delimitation process and could affect the political calculus for the upcoming elections.
