Education departments of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand have released the 2026 school calendar covering the Diwali and Chhath festivals.
The education ministries of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand have jointly disclosed the school holiday schedule for the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals in 2026. The announcement, circulated by NDTV, outlines the dates when schools across the three states will observe a combined break, allowing students and staff to celebrate both festivals without academic disruption.
While the exact start and end dates have not been detailed in the brief, the coordination reflects the cultural significance of Diwali and Chhath in the region and aims to provide a uniform vacation period for schools. Parents and educators are advised to consult the official state education portals for the precise calendar.
The synchronized holiday window is expected to ease planning for families, especially in areas where both festivals are observed with elaborate rituals. Schools are also likely to adjust examination timetables and academic plans to accommodate the extended break.
