A 17-year-old from Dhesiyan Kahna village in Jalandhar lost his life after his bike struck a buried sewage pipe on the road.

A tragic road accident occurred in the village of Dhesiyan Kahna, under the jurisdiction of Goraya police station in Jalandhar, when a 17‑year‑old boy lost his life after his motorcycle collided with a buried sewage pipe on the road.

The incident took place on a local road that serves the village, where the pipe had been left exposed after a recent construction activity. Witnesses reported that the boy was riding his bike at a moderate speed when the pipe suddenly emerged from the ground.

Local authorities responded promptly to the scene, but the teenager could not be revived at the site. He was later transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Goraya police station has opened an inquiry into the circumstances that led to the pipe being left uncovered, and they are investigating whether any construction or maintenance work was carried out without proper safety measures.

The incident has drawn attention to road safety concerns in rural Punjab, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of construction regulations and better road maintenance in the region.
