So far, 166 Indian nationals have been rescued from the ongoing disaster in Nepal, officials say.
A coordinated rescue operation in Nepal has successfully brought 166 Indian citizens to safety, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu confirmed. The disaster, which struck the region earlier this week, prompted immediate assistance from both Nepalese authorities and Indian disaster response teams.
The embassy said that rescue teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local Nepalese officials, worked round the clock to locate and evacuate stranded Indians from affected areas. The rescued individuals are being provided medical check‑ups and basic necessities before being repatriated.
