After the second round of admissions, 1,316 seats for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) remain unfilled in Gujarat.
Gujarat's health education department reported that 1,316 seats for BAMS and BHMS courses are still unoccupied after the second round of counselling held this month. The vacancy figure combines seats across government and private medical colleges that participate in the state’s centralized admission process.
The state conducts multiple counselling rounds to fill seats allocated under the Gujarat Medical Admission System. Despite the additional round, a significant number of seats remained unclaimed, indicating that demand has not met the supply for these traditional medicine programmes.
Officials said they are monitoring the situation and may explore options such as extending the counselling deadline or offering incentives to attract more candidates, but no final decision has been announced yet.
