A 12th‑grade student, angry over his school’s termination of his transfer certificate, scaled Jaipur’s historic Ajmeri Gate on Wednesday morning and threatened to jump, prompting police to intervene and bring him down safely.

On Wednesday morning, a 12th‑standard student climbed the historic Ajmeri Gate in Jaipur, a landmark that connects the old city to the market area. The incident created a sudden disturbance as the young man perched atop the gate and warned that he might jump.

According to local reports, the student’s agitation stemmed from his school’s decision to cancel his Transfer Certificate (TC), a document required for admission to another institution. Feeling aggrieved, he chose the high‑visibility location to protest his grievance.

Police units arrived promptly and engaged the student in dialogue, attempting to de‑escalate the situation. After a brief negotiation, officers approached from behind and, with the student’s cooperation, helped him descend safely without any injury.

The police spokesperson confirmed that the matter is under investigation and that the school has been asked to clarify the reasons for the TC cancellation. No criminal charges were filed at the time of reporting.
