A network of 126 clubs in Mohali has been mobilised to promote voter awareness ahead of upcoming elections.
Mohali authorities have coordinated with 126 local clubs to launch a concerted voter‑awareness campaign. The clubs, representing various neighbourhoods and community groups, will organise door‑to‑door visits, distribute informational material and hold small gatherings to explain the voting process and the importance of casting a ballot.
The initiative comes as the state prepares for the next assembly elections, with officials emphasizing the need to increase informed participation, especially among first‑time voters and marginalized sections. Organisers aim to reach out to residents across the city’s sectors, ensuring that accurate information about polling dates, locations and required identification reaches every household.
While the clubs operate independently, they are linked through a central coordination cell that monitors progress and provides resources such as pamphlets and training sessions for volunteers.
