Villagers in Nadvā, Patna district, are holding a four‑day continuous Ramayana reading, with 108 participants set to chant the Sundarkand on Mahavir Jayanti to seek relief for MLA Anant Singh’s difficulties.

Patna district’s Nadvā village has become the centre of a religious gathering aimed at easing the personal challenges of Mokama MLA Anant Singh. Over the next four days, local residents will conduct an uninterrupted Ramayana recitation, a tradition believed to bring spiritual solace and communal harmony.

The programme includes a special segment on Mahavir Jayanti, when 108 villagers will jointly chant the Sundarkand, a revered chapter of the epic that praises Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. Organisers say the collective chanting is intended to invoke divine blessings for the legislator’s well‑being and to restore peace in his household.

Community leaders have coordinated the event, providing space for the continuous reading and arranging volunteers to manage the schedule. While the initiative is rooted in faith, it also reflects the close ties between local politics and cultural practices in rural Bihar.

No official statements from the MLA’s office have been released, but the villagers hope the spiritual effort will translate into tangible relief for the elected representative and his family.
