Police in Chhattisgarh reported that 108 Maoist insurgents turned themselves in, leading to the recovery of firearms and cash.

Chhattisgarh police announced that 108 members of the Maoist insurgency surrendered voluntarily in the state's interior districts, where security forces have been conducting anti‑Naxal operations.

During the surrender, officers recovered a cache of small arms, ammunition and a sum of cash, though exact quantities were not disclosed. Officials said the recovered items will be logged and used as evidence in ongoing investigations.

The mass surrender is being hailed as a boost to the state's effort to curb left‑wing extremism, which has plagued parts of Chhattisgarh for decades. Authorities hope the development will encourage more insurgents to lay down arms and facilitate peace talks.
