Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have booked five individuals after discovering that 105 children were linked to a single Samagra ID, raising concerns about misuse of the welfare identification system.
During a routine verification of welfare records, officials noticed that an unusually large number of children were attached to a single Samagra ID. The Samagra ID is a unique identifier issued by the Madhya Pradesh government to enable citizens to access various state-run schemes and benefits.
Preliminary checks indicated that the ID had been used to register 105 children, prompting suspicion of fraudulent enrollment to avail undue advantages. The anomaly was flagged for further scrutiny by the concerned department.
Following the investigation, five persons have been booked under relevant legal provisions for alleged misuse of the identification system. Authorities have stated that the probe is continuing and additional details will be shared as the case progresses.
