Rajasthan’s Director General of Police Rajiv Sharma announced that the 10,000 constables recruited last year will finish training this month and become operational on the ground.
Jaipur, Oct 6 (AFP) – Rajasthan’s Director General of Police, Rajiv Sharma, confirmed that the batch of 10,000 constables hired in the previous financial year will complete their training by the end of this month. The recruitment drive, launched to bolster the state’s police strength, targeted fresh candidates from across the state and was concluded with the selection of the full quota.
The trainees are undergoing a standardized curriculum at police training centres spread throughout Rajasthan, covering law‑enforcement basics, weapon handling, community policing and physical fitness. Sharma said the schedule has been adhered to and the trainees are on track to receive their certificates before being posted to their respective districts.
Once the training concludes, the new constables will be deployed to field units, augmenting the existing force and helping address manpower gaps in rural and urban police stations. The DGP highlighted that the addition of 10,000 personnel is expected to improve response times and enhance public safety across the state.
The police department plans to continue its recruitment efforts in the coming years, aiming to maintain a steady inflow of qualified candidates to meet the growing security demands of Rajasthan.
