A ten‑day public outreach program on the PM Surya Ghar Yojana has begun in Udaipur, aiming to inform residents about the scheme’s benefits and eligibility.
Udaipur officials have inaugurated a ten‑day awareness campaign for the Prime Minister's Surya Ghar Yojana, a government initiative that promotes solar‑powered housing solutions. The program, scheduled to run for ten consecutive days, will feature informational sessions, distribution of pamphlets, and on‑site assistance to help citizens understand eligibility criteria and application procedures.
The campaign is being coordinated by the state’s Rural Development Department in collaboration with local municipal bodies. Organisers said the outreach effort targets both urban and rural households, especially those interested in adopting renewable energy technologies to reduce electricity costs.
Authorities have urged residents to attend the scheduled sessions at community centers and panchayat offices, where officials will answer queries and provide guidance on how to apply for subsidies under the scheme. The initiative reflects the government's broader push to increase solar adoption across Rajasthan.
The awareness drive will conclude after ten days, after which a summary report on public response and enrollment numbers will be submitted to the central Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
