Tripura's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Biplab Deb asserted that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is "gone forever" and will not be able to form government again in the state. The statement was made during a public interaction where Deb highlighted the decisive shift in Tripura's political landscape.
The CPI(M) governed Tripura for over two decades until the 2018 assembly elections, when the BJP-led alliance ended its long tenure. Since then, the BJP has consolidated its position, winning subsequent polls and maintaining a strong foothold in the region.
