The regional weather bureau forecasts light rain and snowfall across several areas of Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days.
The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory that light rain will affect several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, with snowfall also likely in the higher altitude zones. The precipitation is expected to be intermittent, with rain showers turning into brief snow flurries as temperatures dip.
The forecast covers the next 24 to 48 hours, during which temperatures are projected to fall, especially in the mountainous districts. Residents in hill stations and remote valleys are advised to stay alert for slippery road conditions and possible localized disruptions.
Local authorities have urged commuters to exercise caution while traveling and to keep emergency kits handy. No major incidents have been reported so far, but the department will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as needed.
Such weather patterns are typical for the winter season in the region, and the department recommends that schools and outdoor events consider postponement if conditions worsen.
