Patna, Darbhanga, Purnia and Bhagalpur will witness the moonrise at specific times on Karwa Chauth 2026, marking the moment when fasting women perform the traditional arghya and conclude their fast. According to Amar Ujala, the moon will become visible at 7:47 pm in Patna, 7:41 pm in Darbhanga, 7:36 pm in Purnia and 7:40 pm in Bhagalpur. These timings are based on astronomical calculations shared by local authorities and are being widely circulated among devotees. The ritual of offering arghya to the moon is a central element of Karwa Chauth, symbolising the well‑being and longevity of married husbands. As the moon rises, women across the four cities will break their fast, often sharing sweets and prayers with family members.
