The Bihar government has introduced a new dress code for teachers, requiring formal wear and prohibiting jeans and t-shirts.
The state education department issued a directive mandating that all teachers wear formal attire in schools. The new rule replaces the previous casual dress policy, banning jeans, t‑shirts and other informal garments. Teachers are now required to wear shirts, trousers, and closed‑toe shoes. The policy, aimed at boosting professionalism, will take effect from the upcoming academic year. Officials have asked schools to ensure compliance by the end of the month.
