Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma toured the districts of Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and Majuli to review and discuss the status of tribal land rights and related concerns.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the districts of Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and Majuli on Thursday to examine the situation of tribal land ownership and related disputes.
The CM met with local leaders, land officials and community representatives to gather information on land allocation, encroachment issues and the implementation of government schemes aimed at protecting tribal interests.
During the visit, Sarma emphasized the importance of safeguarding tribal land rights and pledged to expedite the resolution of pending cases through a dedicated task force.
He also announced plans to conduct a comprehensive audit of land records in the three districts and to launch a public awareness campaign on legal rights for tribal communities.
