In a significant diplomatic development, India has invited Pakistan to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) forum to be held in Delhi. This marks the first time Pakistan has been invited to an SCO event hosted by India since Operation Sindoor.
The SCO forum is a significant platform for regional cooperation and dialogue among member states. India's invitation to Pakistan comes after a period of heightened tensions between the two countries. Operation Sindoor, a military operation conducted by India in 2023, led to a further deterioration in bilateral relations. The decision to invite Pakistan to the SCO forum signals a potential thaw in diplomatic relations between the two nations.
