Polling in Sriganganagar began two hours later than scheduled after electronic voting machines failed to register votes. Election officials reported technical glitches, prompting a delay.
Polling in Sriganganagar on 10 November started two hours behind the scheduled time due to a malfunction in the electronic voting machines (EVMs). The delay was announced after the machines failed to record votes during the initial test run.
Election officials confirmed that the issue was limited to a few machines and that technical teams were working to resolve the problem. They assured voters that the remaining machines were functioning correctly.
The Election Commission advised voters to wait for the official start time and to follow instructions from polling staff. Despite the delay, the polling process is expected to continue smoothly once the machines are repaired.
Voters who arrived early were directed to the polling booths and were informed of the new start time. The delay has raised concerns about potential voter turnout, but officials remain confident that the election will proceed as scheduled.
