South Korean K‑pop group Stray Kids announced they are stepping away from the Grammy Awards, stating that winning awards is not their primary aim.
South Korean boy band Stray Kids, formed by JYP Entertainment, has announced that it will step away from the Grammy Awards race. The decision comes after the recent success of fellow K‑pop act BTS, which has received multiple Grammy nominations.
In a statement released to the press, the group clarified that their focus remains on creating music and connecting with fans rather than chasing award titles. "We never set award results as our goal; we are here to share our music and emotions," the band said.
While the Grammys are a prestigious platform, Stray Kids emphasized that the awards are not the measure of their artistic journey. The announcement follows the band’s plans for new releases and international tours, underscoring a commitment to artistic integrity over external accolades.
Fans worldwide have responded positively, expressing support for the group’s decision to prioritize music over awards.
