National Cadet Corps cadets from St Aloysius have finished a mountaineering programme in Sikkim, gaining practical climbing and leadership experience.
A contingent of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from St Aloysius completed a mountaineering training course in the Himalayan state of Sikkim. The programme, organized under the NCC’s adventure wing, aimed to equip the young trainees with basic climbing techniques, rope handling, and high‑altitude acclimatization.
During the stint, the cadets were supervised by experienced army instructors who guided them through practical sessions on rock climbing, glacier navigation and safety protocols. The training also emphasized teamwork, discipline and outdoor leadership, core values of the NCC.
The successful completion of the course marks a milestone for the St Aloysius institution, reflecting its commitment to holistic development and adventure education for its students. The cadets are expected to apply the skills acquired in future NCC activities and community service projects.
Officials from the NCC praised the participants for their dedication and adaptability in the challenging terrain of Sikkim, noting that such exposure prepares youth for both national service and personal growth.
