Bollywood vocalist Sonu Nigam performed to a full house of 10,000 in Melbourne, delivering a night that celebrated Indian music and culture.
Renowned Indian playback singer Sonu Nigam took the stage in Melbourne to a packed venue, delivering a high‑energy performance that resonated with the city’s sizable South Asian community. The concert, held at a major indoor arena, saw the audience reach its 10,000‑seat capacity, with fans joining in chorus to his classic hits.
Throughout the show, Nigam blended contemporary Bollywood numbers with timeless melodies, prompting spontaneous sing‑alongs that turned the event into a collective celebration of Indian culture. The stage production featured vibrant visuals and traditional motifs, reinforcing the sense of a cultural gathering rather than a standard overseas gig.
Organisers highlighted the concert as a testament to the growing appetite for Indian entertainment abroad, noting that the turnout exceeded expectations for an overseas performance. The enthusiastic response underscores the strong connection the Indian diaspora maintains with its musical heritage.
Industry observers see such events as a bridge between Indian artists and global audiences, potentially paving the way for more large‑scale Indian concerts in Australia’s major cities.
