A trailer carrying rice burst into flames after colliding with a divider near Samel village on the Dausa‑Kothun state highway; fire services extinguished the blaze in two hours and the driver escaped unharmed.
On Sunday morning, a heavy trailer loaded with bags of rice caught fire on the Dausa‑Kothun state highway near the village of Samel in Rajasthan's Dausa district. The incident occurred as the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and struck a road divider, triggering the blaze.
Witnesses reported that the impact caused the trailer's cargo to shift, igniting the rice and creating a large, visible fire that quickly spread along the length of the vehicle. The driver managed to jump out of the cab and flee the scene before the flames intensified.
Local fire‑fighting units arrived promptly and battled the fire for approximately two hours before bringing it under control. No injuries were reported, and the driver was found unharmed after the incident.
Authorities have cordoned off the stretch of highway temporarily to clear debris and investigate the cause of the fire, while traffic was diverted to nearby routes until the site was declared safe.
