Former UDP leader Paul Lyngdoh has been sworn in as a minister in Meghalaya after joining the National People's Party.

Paul Lyngdoh, a prominent political figure in Meghalaya, was sworn in as a minister today after officially joining the National People's Party (NPP). The ceremony took place at the state’s capital, where the Governor administered the oath of office.

Lyngdoh had previously been a senior leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP). His decision to switch allegiance to the NPP was announced earlier this week, marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.

During the oath-taking, Lyngdoh pledged to serve the people of Meghalaya and work towards the development of the state under the NPP banner. The move is expected to strengthen the NPP’s position in the region.

The government has not yet released details of the ministerial portfolio that Lyngdoh will hold, but officials confirmed that he will be a key member of the cabinet.
