The National Human Rights Commission has asked state authorities to submit reports on allegations of girl trafficking originating from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a formal directive to the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, seeking comprehensive reports on recent allegations of trafficking involving minor girls from the two states. The commission’s request comes amid growing concerns about cross‑state networks that allegedly recruit and move young girls for exploitative purposes.

State police and child welfare departments have been instructed to collate all available information, including details of investigations, victim testimonies, and any identified perpetrators. The NHRC has asked for the reports within a stipulated timeframe so that it can assess the adequacy of existing safeguards and recommend corrective measures.

If the findings confirm systemic lapses, the NHRC may forward the matter to the central government and relevant law‑enforcement agencies for further action under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. The commission reiterated its commitment to protecting children’s rights and curbing trafficking across state borders.
