A ₹491 crore pipeline is being laid to supply piped cooking gas to Mizoram by 2028.

The Government of Mizoram has launched a ₹491 crore pipeline project to provide piped cooking gas across the state, with a target completion year of 2028.

The new pipeline will link major towns and rural areas, reducing dependence on LPG cylinders and enhancing household safety.

Approval has come from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and construction has already begun with a consortium of contractors on site.

Officials anticipate that the scheme will benefit more than 1.5 lakh households and support the central government’s National Mission on Gas for All.
