The Chief Minister of Meghalaya has formally asked the Joint Parliamentary Committee to come to Shillong for discussions.
Meghalaya's Chief Minister publicly appealed for the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to travel to the state capital, Shillong, citing the need for direct dialogue on pressing regional issues.
The request was conveyed during a press briefing, where the CM emphasized that a JPC visit would facilitate a better understanding of local challenges and enable more effective policy interventions.
State officials are expected to coordinate with the central government to schedule the committee's visit, which could address matters ranging from infrastructure development to socio‑economic concerns in the northeastern region.
