A man who was filming the Himalayan landscape was captured smiling on camera just seconds before his helicopter went down, according to India Today.
A helicopter operating over the Himalayan region suffered a crash, killing a passenger who had been filming the scenery. The incident was reported by India Today, which released video showing the man smiling at the camera moments before the aircraft lost altitude.
The footage, captured by a fellow crew member, shows the passenger clearly visible, waving and laughing as the rotor blades spin. Within seconds, the helicopter appears to descend rapidly, culminating in a violent impact on the mountainous terrain.
Rescue teams were dispatched to the crash site shortly after the emergency signal was received. Officials confirmed that the victim did not survive the collision, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause, including weather conditions and technical factors.
India Today noted that the video provides a rare, unsettling glimpse of the final moments before the tragedy, underscoring the risks associated with aerial filming in remote, high‑altitude areas.
