Food safety officials raided a dairy in Gram Masuri, Bhind, confiscating a quintal of adulterated mawa along with 30 kg of palm‑oil‑ghee blend and suspending the unit's licence.

The Madhya Pradesh Food Safety Department’s enforcement team conducted a surprise raid on a dairy operating in Gram Masuri, Bhind district, on Thursday. Inspectors discovered a large quantity of adulterated mawa – a dairy product used in sweets – amounting to one quintal (approximately 100 kg). In addition to the mawa, the team seized 30 kg of a mixture comprising palm oil and vegetable ghee, indicating deliberate dilution of the product.

The seized items were taken to the department’s laboratory for further analysis to confirm the extent of adulteration. Based on the findings, the authorities have immediately suspended the dairy’s operating licence, barring it from producing or selling any dairy items until compliance is demonstrated.

The raid is part of a broader crackdown by state food‑safety officials aimed at curbing the sale of sub‑standard and adulterated dairy products that pose health risks to consumers. The department has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious dairy practices.

Officials said that similar inspections are being planned across other districts of Madhya Pradesh to ensure that dairy producers adhere to prescribed quality standards.
