Karnataka Government to Pause New Private PUC College Openings

The Karnataka government is considering a three-year moratorium on the opening of new private Pre-University Colleges (PUC) due to a high vacancy rate. Official sources stated that the current vacancy rate in existing private PUC colleges across the state is a significant 54%. This move aims to address the issue of oversaturation in the private education sector and ensure better resource allocation within the existing infrastructure.
