The India Meteorological Department has issued a fresh depression alert after the remnant of Cyclone Arnab brought heavy rainfall to Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a fresh depression alert today as the remnant of Cyclone Arnab moved over central India. The system has been associated with widespread heavy rainfall across Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Meteorological observations indicate that the affected areas have received intense downpours, leading to localized flooding and waterlogging. The heavy rains have disrupted transportation and caused power outages in several districts.
Officials have urged residents in the impacted regions to stay indoors and to keep away from low‑lying areas. The IMD has also advised that the weather conditions may worsen over the next 24 hours, with the possibility of further rainfall.
Local authorities are mobilizing emergency services and have set up relief camps for those displaced by the floods. The situation remains fluid, and updates will be provided as the weather evolves.
