A delegation of Hmar community leaders from Pherzawl district met Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, urging the state government to upgrade road connectivity, ensure reliable power supply, and expand banking services in the region.
The Hmar community delegation from Pherzawl district convened with Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to highlight long‑standing infrastructure gaps in their area. The representatives outlined three priority demands: the construction and upgrading of road networks, a stable and continuous electricity supply, and the establishment of banking facilities to serve local residents and businesses.
Pherzawl, located in the hilly eastern part of the state, has struggled with poor connectivity that hampers trade, education and health services. In addition, frequent power outages have disrupted daily life, while the absence of nearby bank branches forces villagers to travel long distances for basic financial transactions.
