The Haryana government has introduced a land‑pooling scheme that guarantees landowners half of the saleable portion of their plots.
The Haryana government has released a new land‑pooling policy designed to facilitate planned urban expansion while safeguarding the interests of private landowners.
Under the scheme, owners who pool their land for development will be allotted 50% of the area that becomes saleable after the project is completed. The remaining portion will be earmarked for public infrastructure such as roads, parks and civic amenities.
Officials say the policy aims to create a transparent mechanism for land acquisition, reduce disputes and attract investment by offering a clear entitlement to owners. By ensuring a fixed share of the developed land, the government hopes to encourage participation from stakeholders and accelerate the delivery of affordable housing and commercial spaces.
The policy is expected to be implemented across various growth corridors in the state, with the state’s urban development agencies overseeing the pooling process and the subsequent construction activities.
