Gold, Silver Buying Spikes as Prices Drop Over 3 Days on Ravi Pushya Nakshatra

A sharp fall in gold and silver rates over three consecutive days coincided with the Ravi Pushya Nakshatra, prompting shoppers to spend crores on the precious metals.

Gold and silver prices slipped steadily for three days, ending on the day of the Ravi Pushya Nakshatra, a period traditionally considered auspicious for financial transactions. The decline was recorded across major Indian exchanges, with the 24‑carat gold rate falling by roughly 1.5 per cent and silver by about 2 per cent during the window.

The price dip triggered a buying frenzy, as retailers reported that customers purchased gold and silver jewellery and bars worth several crores of rupees. Market observers said the sudden influx of cash was driven by both the lower rates and the belief that the Nakshatra would bring good fortune to investments in precious metals.

Analysts caution that while the current rally reflects short‑term opportunism, broader factors such as global metal prices and domestic demand will shape future trends. They expect the market to stabilise once the astrological window closes, but the recent surge underscores how cultural cues can amplify trading activity in India’s gold and silver sector.
