Goa to Use AI Governance for Disbursing Welfare Schemes

The state of Goa has unveiled a plan to deploy artificial intelligence governance for managing the disbursement of its welfare schemes. The AI‑driven system will automate beneficiary verification, flag anomalies and accelerate payment processing, reducing manual intervention. Goa’s move aligns with the national push for digital governance and the broader AI strategy set by the central government. Officials said a pilot phase will begin next quarter, after which the system will be expanded across all schemes following a performance review.
