The Air Quality Index in Delhi dropped to a moderate level today, though forecasts warn it could deteriorate to poor later.
Delhi’s air quality showed a noticeable improvement this morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) moving into the moderate bracket, according to the latest readings released by the city's pollution monitoring network.
Meteorological forecasts, however, indicate that the current respite may be short‑lived. Changes in wind patterns and temperature inversions could push pollutant concentrations higher, potentially pushing the AQI back into the poor category later in the day.
Health officials have reiterated standard precautions, urging residents, especially those with respiratory conditions, to remain vigilant, limit outdoor exertion when possible, and keep windows closed if the air quality worsens.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee continues to monitor the situation in real time and will issue updates should the AQI cross the poor threshold.
