A man wanted in a Delhi murder case was apprehended after evading police for 26 years, during which he had disguised the homicide as a road accident.
Delhi police have taken into custody a suspect who had been on the run for 26 years in connection with a murder case. The arrest marks the end of a long‑standing investigation that began more than two decades ago.
According to officials, the investigation uncovered that the suspect had attempted to conceal the killing by staging it as a road accident, misleading first‑responders and investigators at the time. For years the case remained unsolved, with the perpetrator evading detection.
Law enforcement officials said the recent breakthrough was the result of renewed forensic reviews and witness re‑interviews. The accused will now face trial, and authorities expect the case to proceed through the courts without further delay.
