Candidates for the Daroga recruitment exam in Bihar staged a protest in Patna after the main test was cancelled, planning to reach the Chief Minister’s residence.

Candidates awaiting the Daroga (sub‑inspector) recruitment exam in Bihar gathered in Patna on Saturday to protest the sudden cancellation of the main written test. The demonstrators assembled at Gandhi Maidan, a traditional rally point for public movements, before moving towards the JP Golambar and Dak Bangla intersections.
The protesters intend to march directly to the Chief Minister’s official residence, known as CM House, to demand a reinstatement of the exam schedule and clarification on the reasons for its withdrawal. Organisers have urged authorities to address the grievances promptly, warning that the march could intensify if their demands are not met.
Police forces have been deployed along the route, with officers stationed on footpaths and at key junctions to manage crowds and prevent any obstruction of traffic. While the demonstration remains peaceful, officials have cautioned that any attempt to breach the CM House compound will be met with firm action.
The state government has not yet issued a formal response, but sources indicate that senior officials are in contact with candidate representatives to explore possible remedial measures.
